Did Jesus abolish the Law; after all, He told the young ruler to “keep the Commandments?”

A Christian’s explanation,

You must remember that the young man and Jesus were under Law; the Law was the focus of the prevailing covenant and Jews, Israelite’s, converts to Judaism, labored under Law in self-righteousness hoping to attain God’s favor but always fell short of the Law’s mandated perfection (Deuteronomy 27:26). The young man approached Jesus asking “what shall I do to have eternal life?” (Matthew 19:16) and in response to the self-righteous intent of the inquiry, under Law, Jesus said “keep the Commandments.” What other response is expected from a Jewish Rabbi under Law? Jesus provided the young man the opportunity to find life through “faith” no less than twice as from The Beginning mankind has found righteousness (a right standing) with God by faith, not works-obedience-law keeping (Hebrews 11).

The examples of “faith” apart from works as Key to God’s heart are undeniably redundant in the Hebrew Scriptures yet those under the Covenant of Law missed or outright denied this most critical eternal truth by pursuing righteousness through Law via self-righteousness, pride, arrogance, self-sufficient superiority through religious heritage.

Jewish, religious, cult, duplicity…an eternal error…

The young man, much like most every Jew, Israelite, SDA cult member, Hebrew Roots disciple, religionist, that comment in these forums, they believe in the veracity of the Law to save though many will boast that they’re faithful and Jesus is the Way but in reality, they’re conflicted, they’re compromised, they’re miserable, they’re failures, as they place one-foot in the Old Covenant of Law and one-foot in the New Covenant of Grace because they simply cannot find sufficient faith to let it go, to let go of self-righteousness through law keeping (Galatians 3) and allow the complete sufficiency of God’s grace (unmerited favor unattainable through human effort – a gift) through faith (trusting-believing) in Jesus as Lord who died for them to provide complete absolution from sin and guilt and Hell, forever, and by covenant promise (Epheians 1:13-14) allow the Holy Spirit to be their Law through the conscience via sanctification.

The moral law will NEVER pass away…

Once again, ad nauseam, the moral law of God, extant from eternity past, will NEVER pass away (Matthew 24:35) as it is an arbiter of free will and the moral law is of necessity to stymie human extinction in narcissism and as an arbiter of God’s justice through due process. Jesus never said the law was abolished but He, Himself, would fulfill it in all righteousness (Matthew 5:17) and that HIS righteousness in exchange for our sin would be available by faith to everyone who “believes” in Him as Lord (2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 26:28)…those who “believe” would NOT be judged (John 3:18) and that He is the only Way to life with the Father (John 14:6); this, apart from the Law of sin and death and condemnation i.e. hopelessness (Romans 8:2).

Commandment/Law Keeping – Self-Righteousness – Legalism – the Rich Young Ruler – the Gospel…a Christian perspective…

Jesus, born of the virgin seed to circumvent the sin-nature passed through Adam (Romans 5:21), fulfilled the moral mandates upon which the Sinai Commandments are based as Jesus is the Living Word and Messiah is also the fulfillment of all that the ceremonial-civil laws foreshadowed (John 1; Colossians 2:16). It is through His perfection that Messiah became the ONLY acceptable blood atonement for your sin (Acts 4:12; John 3; John 14:6; Matthew 26:28).

The moral law under girding the Law Covenant will never pass away (Matthew 24:35) as it has been relevant as an arbiter of free will from the creation of the angels forward (Romans 2:14-15). This same moral law judged Satan and under girded his extrication from the Kingdom (Luke 10:18) which initiated the creation of our Universe, Time, physics, as a repository (Genesis 1); this same moral law judged the Adamic and Noahic generations where all perished in water save eight; this same moral law is the foundation for the Sinai Commandments as Elohim codified, in stone, specific aspects of the moral law concerning Israel’s affiliation with paganism that inundated the Tribes and as a bulwark against same.

The Sinai Commandments given specifically to the Hebrew Tribes and converts to Judaism are NOTHING NEW or novel…just a reiteration of the moral law with specificity, that moral law having been written in the heart of every human being created in the likeness of Elohim as a communicable attribute (Genesis 1:26-28).

Concerning the Rich Young Ruler and Commandment keeping (Matthew 19:16-22),

The rich young ruler approached Jesus and asked him what He MUST DO to inherit eternal life suggesting that he was sufficiently righteous in and of himself to earn God’s forgiveness. Jesus had previously provided the young man a path to eternal life by asking why he called Jesus “good” as no one is “good” but God; in this, Jesus asked the young man if he recognized Jesus as God which would have been the KEY to eternal life (John 8:24) but the young man did not recognize Jesus; therefore, Jesus said…if you want to earn eternal life, “keep the Commandments” The young man, in his self-righteousness” stated that he had kept the Commandments at which time Jesus proceeded to demonstrate to him that he had NOT kept the Commandments by telling the young man if he wanted to be perfect (righteous), go and give his possessions away and come and “Follow ME!”

Again, Jesus provided the young man a path to Eternal Life through belief-faith in Jesus as Messiah but the young man walked away sad because he loved his wealth more than God; in this, Jesus demonstrated that the young man had violated the Greatest Commandment to love God above all else and the one likened to it, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Conclusion,

Jesus knows we cannot keep the Commandments sufficiently to earn our own righteousness (Romans 3:20) as the Law mandates absolute perfection (James 2:10) and we’re sinners under the condemnation of sin (Romans 3:23); therefore, the Law curses anyone who seeks righteousness through it (Galatians 3:10).

The Father, in His unfathomable mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for sin (John 3:16; 1 John 4:10) and through faith in Jesus as Lord mankind can receive the imputation of Jesus’ perfection/righteousness IMPUTED into the life of the one who believes by faith that Jesus is Lord and that He died to pay our sin-debt and through faith, the one receiving Jesus as their Lord is declared “not guilty” by the Father via covenant promise…this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21; John 3; Hebrews 8:12).

The purpose of the Ten Commandments…

The Ten Commandments were given SPECIFICALLY to Israel and converts to Judaism as nine of the ten Commandments are based in the moral law of conscience relevant from the creation of the angels as an arbiter of free will (Romans 2:14-15). Elohim provided aspects of the moral law codified in stone with some specificity applicable to the unique needs of Israel’s children wandering through lands inhabited by pagan tribes worshiping pagan gods and almost continually seeking Israel’s compromise with idolatry; therefore, Elohim gave Israel’s children, the Hebrew Tribes, laws prohibiting behaviors practiced by the pagans surrounding them…behaviors that are especially abhorrent to Elohim and potentially directly impeded Elohim’s eschatological plans He would pursue through Israel; specifically, the introduction of Messiah who was to be a blessing to all the families of the Earth (Genesis 12:3b).

The Ten-Commandments are Israel’s exclusive property though my Messiah did infuse the moral aspects of the Decalogue into His ministry and added mens rea to enhance culpability via the thought life. With that said, the Christian does not cognitively or spiritually seek adherence to laws, rules, regulations, commandments, days, dietary edicts, but the Christian seeks obedience to God’s will through the indwelling Holy Spirit via the conscience via sanctification…(Romans 7:14).

Concerning Law…the continuing controversy…

The moral law, that upon which nine of the Ten Commandments at Sinai are based (excluding the 4th), has been extant from the creation of the angels as an arbiter of free will and the moral law of God will remain relevant throughout eternity existing beyond the present Heaven and Earth that will be destroyed by fire (Matthew 24:35; 2 Peter 3:7-10). It is the moral law that is infused within every human being created in the spiritual image of Elohim (Genesis 1:26-28) as the moral law is one of the communicable attributes given humanity by God relevant to His eschatological purposes in Time and Eternity.

The moral law judged Satan and the fallen angels; this same law judged the Adamic and Noahic generations where all but eight perished in water. This same moral law will be used at adjudication in the Judgment of the Condemned (Revelation 20:11-15). God’s moral law is of necessity as a bulwark against unrestrained narcissism resulting in human self-destruction and God’s moral law is of necessity concerning justice in order that judgment manifest with due process and equality.

The Law Covenant and the moral law of conscience…

The Law Covenant given Israel’s children consisted of moral law, civil-ceremonial law and Jesus fulfilled the moral and civil-ceremonial laws in perfection and was the only One qualified to provide you blood atonement for your sin (Hebrews 10). The civil-ceremonial laws foreshadowed the coming Messiah and now that our Messiah has come, we’re no longer under dietary, Sabbath edicts, clothing-fabric prohibitions (Colossians 2:16)…but we remain culpable for adherence to the moral law…that law that governs behavior between God and man and man with his fellowman.

Moral Law and the Christian…

In the New Covenant, established in Messiah’s blood (Matthew 26:28), it is the indwelling Holy Spirit given to the faithful in Jesus (Ephesians 1:13-14) that arbitrates the moral law via the conscience via the daily process of sanctification (Galatians 5:16). Christians are not enslaved to letters, laws, ordinances, days, dietary restrictions, in order to please God (Romans 7:14 & 6:14) but the Christian walks in obedience to the Holy Spirit via the conscience and in their new-nature (2 Corinthians 5:17) they seek to please the Father because they truly love Him as He first loved us and gave Himself for us in the Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 4:19); therefore, the Christian walks in peace and intimacy with God as we’re forgiven and redeemed by our Lord Jesus Christ through His work at Golgotha (Romans 5:1).

To Jacob’s children who dismiss the veracity of the New Testament as contradictory…

The New Testament is not contradictory…it simply fulfills what the Law Covenant foreshadowed. If you deny the words of Jesus, you deny LIFE and you will perish in your sins (John 8:24).

The New Covenant is here as it is established in the blood of Messiah at Golgotha (Matthew 26:28); The New Covenant is available to you by faith in Yeshua as your Messiah and the ONLY Way (John 14:6) to access it is by humbling yourself, admitting to the Father that you’re a sinner in need of a Redeemer and confess with your heart and mouth that you sincerely believe Yeshua is Messiah and that He died to pay your sin-debt owed the Father for you…a debt you could never pay yourself (John 3).

If you truly desire to do the will of God for your life, you will believe that Yeshua is your Messiah sent by the Father into the Realm of Time for your benefit; that is, to pay your sin debt owed the Father (John 6:29). There is no other Name given among men by which you must be saved or can be saved, Yeshua Messiah (Acts 4:12).

Legalism – Law Keeping and the New Covenant – “Oil and Water”

It is the subtle legalist existing with one foot in grace and one foot in works of the Law Covenant that is abhorrent to God. The LAW of the Covenant is NOTHING TO ME in my walk with the Holy Spirit as the Law Covenant was given by God SPECIFICALLY to Jacob’s children for the purposes of setting Israel apart from the paganism that surrounded them as God was working through the Hebrew Tribes to further His eschatological plan for all of human kind as promised Abraham (Genesis 12:3b).

The Law Covenant is NOTHING NEW but simply a reiteration of the moral law extant from the creation of the angels as an arbiter of free will; the Law Covenant simply provided the Hebrew Tribes with some codified specificity concerning behaviors they were to avoid, behaviors practiced by the pagan tribes around them, pagan filth serving pagan gods, behaviors that were especially appalling to the Living God.

This silly obsession with a LAW Covenant that condemns you to death in HELL is a spiritual illness (Romans 3:20; Galatians 3:10). The faithful in Jesus are NOT enslaved to LAWS, edicts, rules, regulations, but follow the Spirit in LOVE which manifests in obedience through PEACE with God (Romans 5:1), not strife and worry and condemnation by the Devil.

This law keeping is a spiritual illness among the weak in faith who deny the sufficiency of Jesus Christ to fully save apart from man’s self-righteousness.

Muhammad v. Jesus // Islam v. Christianity // Darkness v. Light // Death v. Life // Hell v. Eternal Life // The Lie v. Truth

Muhammad was a 7th-Century murdering, pedophile, thief, who was the demonic product of adultery between Abraham and Hagar producing the “wild donkey” of a man named Ishmael who is the father of the Ishmaelites who are the progenitors of Muhammad who, through Satan’s leadership, formed the demonic religious cult of Islam and eventually the Islamic Caliphate, a murdering hoard of demons that terrorized the World until temporarily halted in 1929. Satan’s Islam will be a major player in the coming nuclear war emanating from an unholy alliance between Russia-China-Iran/Islam v Israel (the final 3.5-years of the Great Tribulation).

Islam’s “Allah” is Satan masquerading as an angel of light via the Arabic moon god (2 Corinthians 11:14); there is nothing but death and Hell in Islam and only Abraham’s son, Isaac, is the son of promise, not Ishmael, and only Jesus died for you to provide blood atonement for your sin (Matthew 26:28), not Muhammad, and if you deny Jesus and die in the deceit of Islam, you will perish in your sin and in Perdition without hope (John 8:24; John 14:6).

Torah Worship and the Jewish Curse

Torah’s primary relevance in life and reality and eternity, other than its creation narrative, is the moral aspects of its law which is simply a codification and reiteration of the moral law extant from the creation of the angels as an arbiter of free will (Romans 2:14-15). Torah worship is death in Hell as the Torah defines our sin, our culpability before God, but provides NO atonement (Romans 3:20; Galatians 2:16).

Judaism – a religion of hopelessness

Torah worship is the Jewish Curse of hopelessness as Torah has become a religious icon of Judaism – a religion of self-righteousness through works of the Law (Galatians 2:16; Romans 10). Jesus, and only Jesus as our God, fulfilled the righteous mandates of the Torah for us and offers us His righteousness in exchange for our sin IF we place our faith in Him as our Lord who died for us (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Our HOPE is in Jesus, not the Torah Law,

Jesus is God, Jesus is Elohim our Creator (John 1; Hebrews 1; Colossians 1; Philippians 2) and the New Covenant, as established in Messiah’s blood (Matthew 26:28), is the only Path to life in Eternity (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

The Old Covenant – based in the Torah, was faulty (Hebrews 8:7) as it only defined our sin but provided no atonement (Romans 3:20); therefore, the Torah is a curse to anyone seeking righteousness through its mandates (Galatians 3:10) as the Law requires absolute perfection (James 2:10) and human kind is under the condemnation of sin (Romans 3:23); therefore, again, Torah becomes a curse to those seeking life in eternity through its mandates apart from faith in Jesus as Lord (Galatians 3:10).

Your only HOPE,

Your ONLY HOPE for life through the forgiveness of sin is faith-trust-belief-the “new birth” in Jesus Christ as your Messiah who died for you (John 3) and receive the imputation of Messiah’s righteousness imputed into your life by faith and thereby receive the covenant promise of forgiveness (Hebrews 8:12) through the establishment of covenant relationship guaranteed by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:13-14).

A sincere warning,

If you trust in anyone or anything other than Jesus Christ for life in Eternity…you will perish in your sin and perish in the “second death” in Perdition (John 8:24; Revelation 20:11-15). If you deny the Son, you do not have the Father and you do not have life (1 John 2:23).

The Father’s purpose(s) for a Millennial Kingdom…

This morning, 26 March 2022, I observed the impotence of America’s Marxist Supreme “Democrat” Leader in Europe war-mongering among European leadership and in my shame and embarrassment for the Nation I love I could only think about my Lord, His eschatological plans and how faithful and accurate are the words provided by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit teaches us that a Time of Tribulation is coming upon the World and nuclear confrontation will manifest via an alliance between Russia-Iran/Islam (Satan)-China v. Israel; millions of men, women, children will perish in this horror and the suffering will be pervasive and unconscionable. This demonic horror will preface the 2nd-Advent of my Lord Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Millennial Kingdom; therefore, a most intriguing question is, “What is the Father’s purpose for the Thousand-Years of Peace” to be administered by King Jesus subsequent the Great Tribulation?

Concerning the Nation of Israel,

Even though Israel has been unfaithful and broken God’s Covenants; rejected and murdered their Messiah; rejected the New Covenant – the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God remains faithful and will save a remnant of Jacob’s children during the Tribulation era (Isaiah 10:22; Romans 9:27) and these will see and mourn for their Messiah and enter into the Millennial Kingdom and Messiah Jesus will receive the Kingdom denied Him at His first-advent (Zechariah 12:10). The thousand-years do not belong solely to Israel but to all faithful in Jesus Christ; both believing Gentiles and the redeemed of Jacob’s seed through faith.

Why a Millennial Kingdom?

I believe the Holy Spirit teaches that the Millennial Kingdom serves multiple purposes, one being the establishment of a Kingdom specifically to honor Jesus as King and second, to provide a stark differentiation from the previous 6000-years of horror manifesting from the Evil One’s influence upon human kind.

Furtherance of the Father’s eschatological plan…

The Father is currently Administrator in an unconscionable war initiated in His Kingdom by an anointed cherub angel; that war having been removed from the Kingdom and the Realm of Time, this Universe, created as a repository and battle ground where the Father through the Son (Warrior and Redeemer) is dealing with said rebellion and restoring peace and order to His Kingdom (1 John 3:8b); the Father is currently in the process of demonstrating to the faithful angelic creation the reasoning for Satan’s extrication from the Kingdom (Luke 10:18) and why Satan, the rebellious angels, must be interned in Hell, forever (Rev 20:10) while simultaneously maintaining volitional love with the beautiful angelic creation.

As the faithful angels have been horrified by the influence of their former brethren concerning the devastation of sin upon humanity, these same angels have been overwhelmed by their God’s selfless love at the Cross to redeem a vile, vulgar and thankless human kind. Through His selfless love demonstrated at Golgotha to destroy the works of the Evil One (1 John 3:8b), God will maintain volitional love with His faithful angelic creation that He loves beyond human comprehension.

The Millennial Kingdom, replete with absolute peace as the Evil One is confined for 1000-years (Rev 20:3), will provide an experientially relevant and stark differentiation, undeniable proof, that Satan is the father of lies, murder, suffering, disease, unconscionable horror (John 8:44) and the faithful angelic creation will wholly concur with the Father that Satan and the fallen angels do deserve eternal punishment in Hell (Rev 20:10) while concurrently, this demonstration of the horrors of rebellion to God’s authority, sovereignty, love, will act as a bulwark against future rebellion in the Kingdom where nothing impure is allowed to exist (Rev 21:27) but where free will is extant out of necessity.

In this, the Father, the Son, the Spirit, will be receive all honor and praise and glory as a result of their selfless love demonstrated by our God and Savior Jesus Christ at Golgotha. Faithfulness to God’s will and His moral law will be honored by all, both the resurrected faithful and the angelic creation, as God’s Way is the ONLY WAY to lasting peace and intimacy in the New Jerusalem.

Jacob’s children boast and proclaim security in their heritage and are destroyed for a lack of knowledge via wilful obstinance…a lesson for all of humanity…

Jesus came to the lost sheep of Israel to proselytize them in the New Covenant’s Gospel of Grace as Jacob’s children through Messiah were to be “a blessing to all the families of the Earth” as per Genesis 12:3b; unfortunately, Jacob’s children broke God’s covenants that were predicated upon obedience as per Deuteronomy 28; Jacob’s children rejected their Messiah; Jacob’s children rejected the New Covenant Gospel established in Messiah’s blood (Matthew 26:28); Jacob’s children falsely accused their Messiah of blasphemy and conspired with the Roman authorities to unmercifully flog and murder their Messiah upon a tree while exclaiming that Messiah’s blood be upon them and their children (Matthew 27:25); therefore, God the Father took the New Covenant Gospel from Jacob’s children and placed them under judgment (Romans 9-11); consequently, only a “remnant” of Jacob’s children will escape the “second death” in Perdition due to unbelief (Isaiah 10:22; Romans 9:27); consequently, the Father gave the Gospel to the Gentiles as Abraham’s seed through faith (Galatians 3:14) and commissioned the faithful in Jesus Christ to take the Gospel to the ends of the Earth while the Jew and Israelite remain steadfastly hopeless in self-righteousness through law-keeping in unbelief while mocking faith.

Hope remains…

Every Jew and Israelite with the breath of life has the opportunity to repent and remove the veil of unbelief through faith in Jesus Christ as their Messiah who died for them and subsequently find life in His Name; after all, there is no other Way (2 Corinthians 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)
