The Decalogue and the New Covenant?
The Sinai Commandments are but a portion of Elohim’s divine law that was codified for the children of Israel that they might know Elohim’s righteous decrees and desires for their individual and corporate lives as they were to sojourn among and through vile pagan tribes en route to the Promised Land and ultimately pave a path through the Tribe of Judah to the promised Messiah.
The Commandments were a good tutor to point Israel to their need for a perfect Savior as the law does not nor could it ever save the soul of Adam’s descendants from Hell (Galatians 2:16). In the New Covenant, the Mosaic Law is not taught as a path to righteousness but that faith in Jesus as our Law Giver and Keeper is the only Way to eternal life via imputed, gifted, righteousness (John 14:6; 2 Corinthians 5:21); individual obedience made possible through obedience to the indwelling Holy Spirit via daily Christian sanctification (Romans 7:6).
It is the production of divine fruit (Galatians 5:16-23; John 15:8) that actually honors the Father and there is no law arbitrating “the fruit of the Spirit” as same fulfills all law.
