What did the Apostle Paul mean by “works of the Law?”

Works of the law refers to the self righteous act of futility concerning trying to keep the law, rules, regulations, days, diets, sufficiently to please God and receive divine favor leading to forgiveness and eternal life, redemption. This heresy was first attempted by Adam in Eden through the donning of fig leaves to cover his sin and shame from Elohim (Genesis 3:21)…Elohim rejected same and shed innocent blood to acquire a robe of skins (an imputed robe of righteousness) to cover Adam and his wife. This is the first proclamation of the Gospel; that is, redemption, forgiveness, is only possible by faith in Jesus and His imputed righteousness earned for us via His shed blood on a Cross at Golgotha 2000-years ago.
