1) Faith that initiates New Covenant relationship with the Father is a noun, NOT a verb. You can do NOTHING to earn your salvation, a salvation that is offered by grace (unmerited favor unattainable through human effort – a divine gift) through faith-trust-belief in Jesus as your Messiah (John 3; Ephesians 2:8-9).

2) We, the descendants of Adam, will die in body due to sin (1 Corinthians 15:22) though there will be a minuscule segment of humanity that will not see physical death but be transformed in that Day (1 Corinthians 15:51). With that said, if one professes Jesus Christ as Messiah and continues living in willful sin void conscience, they are not, nor were they ever, redeemed by faith (Matthew 7:15-20) as these who are willfully lawless remain as those who pursue righteousness through the written code (Torah) – they are cursed (Galatians 3:10), they are dead in their sin and trespasses due to the Law of Sin and Death that defines sin void atonement (Romans 3:20; Romans 8:2).

If one desires to honor the Ten-Commandments simplified into the Two-Greatest Commandments as articulated by Messiah, those Two-Commandments fulfilling all Law (Matthew 22:36-40), they must repent of their sin and initiate covenant relationship with the Father by faith in the Son, Jesus Christ, believing that Jesus died to pay their sin-debt for them and subsequently receive the indwelling Holy Spirit in accordance with New Covenant promise (Ezekiel 36:27) and walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16), obeying the Spirit’s leadership and tutorship over their life; this, accomplished by the Holy Spirit working through the redeemed conscience (2 Corinthians 5:17) via the daily process of sanctification where the Spirit produces “fruits” of righteousness (Galatians 5:22-23) and this spiritual fruit fulfills all Law, both the Spiritual Law (Romans 2:14-15) and the Written Code (Sinai), as there is no Law against that “fruit of righteousness” which the Spirit produces in the life of the one redeemed by Jesus as Messiah; in fact, Jesus said “you will know them by their fruit” (Matthew 7:15-20). These never humbled themselves and repented of their sins and fully trusted in Jesus as their Messiah and received the righteousness of Jesus imputed into their life by faith and subsequently received the Holy Spirit as Guarantor of that covenant relationship (John 3; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Corinthians 5:21). These never complied with the Father’s will (John 6:29) therefore, they never entered relationship as children of the Living God by grace through faith.

Their “wonderful works” were interpreted by the Father as “filthy rags” or, in the Hebrew, a bloody menstrual cloth (Isaiah 64:6) because their works were not performed by the indwelling Holy Spirit but they performed their good deeds in self-righteousness for self-glorification before men, society; therefore, their good works were rejected as were they because covenant relationship had not been established, FIRST!
