Ripping PVC Pipe – covers for boat wiring & hull transition

Remodeling a project boat and its bunk area. Removed carpeting that was retaining mold. Planning on painting the entire bunk area with bilge paint but needed a transition piece between upper and lower hull and the electrical wiring running along side the bulkhead at the transition seam. PVC ripped at center seems to provide the perfect transition piece as it can be painted or carpeted and makes a smooth transition while providing sufficient room for running wires and cables. PVC is available in a wide variety of sizes, some come in black (Schedule 80) or electrical conduit in gray to suit your needs. In this video I’ll rip-cut schedule 40 PVC 2″ for my project and use a heat-gun to conform the split halves to the curved bulkhead as it terminates at the bow.
